Literacy plays an important role in the economic development of a nation.Although India has raised its current literacy rate to about 75% , still there are few places in country where children are deprived of education. They suffer due to poor financial conditions due to which they are forced to work in factories, hotels etc.
Moreover if we draw our attention towards female education in our country, the statistics are quite shocking.
According to above statistics only 48% of the females study upto 5th grade in India. In more precise words only 15% of the females are able to read a sentence as they study upto 2nd grade only..
Hence it’s not only a matter of controlling child labour and promoting education but promoting female education as well. According to Brigham Young –
“You educate a man; you educate a man.You educate a woman; you educate a generation.”
